HOLLYWOOD SUNSET In Development Hollywood Sunset is about a young entertainment lawyer, Teldon Phoenix, caught in a crossfire between a power-hungry producer, the House Un-American Activities Committee, a famous actor self-destructing, a fading starlet looking for a comeback, and a hungry young actress trying to take her place. All this is set against the changing climate of Hollywood in the fifties. The industry is threatened by the advent of television and a rash of new-wave film makers from Europe. The old hollywood system seems on its way out. A new kind of actor appears on the scene in the guise of Montgomery Townsend, a brilliantly talented rebel determined to go his own way.
