-On May 7th 2009, a misdirected US air strike killed as many as 120 afghans. Since 2001, when the American invasion of Afghanistan known as "Operation Enduring Freedom" was launched, an estimated 30,000 civilian casualties have resulted from the war.
-On December 1st, President Obama confirmed his plan to send an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, just nine months after his original 15,000 troop "surge".
-On Decmber 10th, Obama accepted his Nobel Peace Prize, giving a speech that glorified the concept of "just war", and said "I believe the United States of America must remain a standard bearer in the conduct of war." 
During the January Invasion of Gaza by Isreali forces, Obama called it a "source of deep concern for me.", and added that while Bush was still President, "We've got plenty to say about Gaza, and on January 20, you'll hear directly from me,"

Since the inauguration, his silence has been deafening.
