The nation of Haiti has been hit by a devastating earthquake. We have seen the terrible
destruction earthquakes cause all over the world but this crisis is particulary
desparate because the island nation was already in the grip of crippling
poverty and years of civil strife. The instabilatly and lack of resources is
so severe that urgent action is needed to save thousands of lives in the aftermath
